Duties And Responsibilities
Student Co-Investigator ($1000): co-facilitate tutor training workshops with the PI on the reading comprehension strategies used in the project; provide peer coaching to undergraduate tutors; conduct weekly fidelity observations to confirm tutors follow the designated strategies; administer student assessment measures; oversee data collection; and code qualitative data from tutor journals. Tutor ($200): provide reading comprehension tutoring to assigned students at the partner school.
Qualifications
(a) attending a teacher education program at Winthrop University; (b) having recommendations by a minimum of two faculty members; having a GPA of 3.0 or higher; (d) showing the passion of supporting diverse learners; and (e) prior experience mentoring or tutoring upper elementary students
