PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Develop program evaluate troubleshoot and recommend CNC machine tools utilizing personal computers CAM software and DNC systems.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop efficient CNC programs and related materials using tool drawings fixture drawings part prints and associated documents.
- Work with operators lead people supervisors manufacturing engineers and other internal and external resources to optimize old and new processes and assist in training of these processes.
- Recommend new or revised tooling fixtures equipment software and process improvements to support efficient operations.
- Conduct special studies assist with capital research serve on special teams and provide support for Statistical Process Control (SPC) or other quality initiatives as required.
- Proactively communicate operations problems and opportunities as they arise.
- Take positive action to advance personal knowledge of manufacturing technology CNC programming CAM software DNC technology and related information.
- Maintain appropriate records and documentation to assist in the control and evaluation of programming operations.
- Assist in the development of a safe working environment through the use of occupational safety and health standards including ergonomic principles.
- Other related duties as required.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Manufacturing Technology Industrial Automation or related AA or AS degree preferred.
- Training or experience working with CAM software required; EdgeCam preferred.
- Varied CNC operating experience desirable.
OTHER SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

- Requires extensive knowledge of machine processes capabilities and resources available.
- Strong knowledge of general math geometry and trigonometry.
- Visualization ability required.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products including but not limited to Word Excel and Outlook.
- Knowledge of computer basics required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to move within office and manufacturing complex write by hand and keyboard and perform general office functions.
- Ability to communicate by speech and hearing via phone and in person.
- Visual acuity needed for close detail work and computer use.
- General manufacturing warehouse and office environment.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
- Must have the ability to effectively communicate with customers suppliers and all levels of corporate and company personnel.
- Requires frequent contact with personnel from all departments at all management levels and outside vendors.
