The Comprehensive Literacy State Development (CLSD) Program Manager is an integral part of the regional academic team ensuring schools have the professional learning and data systems needed to drive strong literacy outcomes. This role supports the design and execution of professional development maintains aligned curriculum and assessment infrastructure and monitors data to inform action across schools. The CLSD Program Manager will be the main point of contact for all CLSD administrative reporting professional development and state-level activities.
The starting salary range for this role is $78436-$85256. This is a full-time role based at HDQ with an anticipated start date of August 2026.
The Humanities Coaching team is expanding and currently seeking two (2) Program Managers: one dedicated to supporting the K5 grade band and one dedicated to the 612 grade band.

About the Role
Reporting directly to the Deputy Chief Academic Officer for Literacy and Humanities the CLSD program manager is an integral member of the regional academic team. The CLSD program manager is responsible for supporting 6-12 professional learning and data systems across KIPP DC. Responsibilities include coordinating and executing professional development maintaining aligned assessment infrastructure monitoring and reporting on literacy data and supporting collaboration across schools. The CLSD Program Manager will be the main point of contact for all CLSD administrative reporting professional development and state-level activities.
Location and Type of Work
This is an exempt position and will report to the DCAO-Literacy and Humanities. As a headquarters team that is focused on being responsive to our schools and meeting the needs of our students and families we approach our work in a way that reflects these priorities. This position will generally work independently and not regularly interface with students families or school teams. This position will primarily work from our headquarters office to maintain a connection to their colleagues and foster a sense of cross-functional collaboration. Because of the nature of this positions work this role allows for hybrid flexibility and will be required to be onsite 3 days per week.
Responsibilities
The percentages for each key responsibility are estimates and other duties may be assigned. Flexibility and responsiveness are encouraged to accommodate organizational needs.
Professional Learning Support (50% of time)
- Coordinate collaboration across school-based CLSD funded literacy coaches to ensure alignment of practices materials and priorities
- Partner with internal teams and external providers to design and deliver high-quality research-based professional learning for teachers and leaders
- Support day-of execution of professional development including logistics support troubleshooting and ensuring strong participant experience
- Support the execution of the teacher leader academies including coordination of programming logistics and day-to-day operations
- Draft and manage clear consistent communication to cohort members school leaders and stakeholders regarding program updates expectations and key milestones
- Build and manage systems to curate and share key program information including session materials announcements and resources
- Collect analyze and synthesize participant feedback and program data to generate insights and inform continuous improvement
- Develop and share regular feedback reports on cohort progress program effectiveness and key trends
CLSD Grant Management (30% of time)
- Serve as the main point of contact for all CLSD administrative reporting professional development and state-level activities.
- Attend monthly OSSE grant compliance calls summarize content and report out to key stakeholders
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree
- Minimum of 2 years teaching experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated effectiveness in leading and coordinating across functional teams
- Experience with grant management
- Ability to build relationships and consensus impact & influence and motivate action
- Demonstrated excellence in project management organizational and event execution skills with strong attention to detail
- Strong writing and communication skills
