Job Summary
Clinical Intern -GraduateCommunity Services -WalthamOpenings for Summer and Fall 2026Contact: Tebogo Makhene Assistant Site Director- :Office located in Waltham. Services can be provided either in the Waltham/Metro Boston/Middlesex region or in the Medford/Malden/Northeast of Program: Waysides Waltham Community Based Services Site is acceptingGraduate Levelinterns. We provide a range of in-home community-based services designed to protect preserve and reunify families within a wide geographical area. Community-based clinicians provide individual couples and family therapy. Treatment is generally intensive in nature and delivered using a strengths-based resiliency-focused philosophy. Clinicians work with clients referred from the Department of Children and Families the Department of Mental Health and a variety of insurance companies to address such issues as mental health symptom management family systems dynamics behavior management substance abuse budgeting household management parent education and provide comprehensive assessments and goal formulation therapeutic intervention case management advocacy and concrete services such as transportation to appointments assistance with accessing services and referrals. Interns are fully integrated into the team and will participate in agency-wide initiatives such as Motivational Interviewing ARC and Courageous Conversations. This is an excellent internship for confident self-starters who will receive ample support from a strong clinical team and will also function autonomously in the and/or academic exposure to family work is recommended. Flexibility is required. Final year graduate students preferred though will consider strong first year students with relevant year interns may have the opportunity to carry one or two outpatient cases at the Waltham site. Availability to see families during evening hours at least two nights a week Minimum of 24 hours per week for final-year interns Minimum of 20 hours per week for first-year interns. Wayside staff and clinicians provide community trainings in schools to mental health providers and in collaboration with community is a teaching and training facility that provides graduate students with internships and clinical placement.
