The Role

We are building a brand-new Civil Engineering department. Your leadership will shape it from the ground the early weeks and months you will be hands-on with grading drainage substation site planning foundation design and structural analysis. As the workload grows your role will shift into full-time supervision leading hiring efforts mentoring team members and ensuring quality across all deliverables.

What Your Day Will Look Like

• Lead civil design tasks including site grading drainage substation layout foundations and structural modification work
• Recruit onboard and mentor junior and mid-level civil engineers
• Oversee self-performed civil packages and review support-team deliverables
• Coordinate with clients internal electrical teams utilities and contractors
• Conduct QA/QC reviews and ensure compliance with NESC local codes and geotechnical standards
• Assist with civil scoping estimating and proposal development
• Develop and refine internal processes design standards and documentation
• Support occasional site visits and field activities

• Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering;
• PE (Civil or Structural) strongly preferred
• 7 or more years of experience in utility substation and civil site design including grading drainage foundations and structural analysis
• Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams and mentoring staff
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D structural analysis software and LPile.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
• Self-starter with an entrepreneurial approach to leadership
• Valid drivers license and ability to travel 10 to 20 percent based on project needs
