Duties & Responsibilities:- Lead the development and advancement of Indigenous-centered policy and systems initiatives that promote innovation health equity and sustainable outcomes for Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander communities.
- Build and coordinate strategic partnerships with community organizations government agencies academic institutions and other stakeholders to develop culturally grounded policies strengthen community capacity and support collaborative initiatives.
- Translate research into policy and practice by analyzing legislation developing policy recommendations supporting community-based programs and evaluations and ensuring Indigenous knowledge systems and community priorities are integrated into all initiatives.
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelors degree in Public Health Public Policy Indigenous Studies Public Administration Hawaiian/Pacific Islander Studies or a related field and at least three (3) years of progressively responsible professional experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander cultures community networks history and practices.
- Working knowledge of federal and state laws regulations and systems related to public policy and program management.
- Demonstrated experience collaborating with diverse stakeholders across community government and academic sectors.
- Strong analytical problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including report writing and presentations.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
- Experience in program coordination or management including community-based initiatives. - Proficiency in computer and word processing applications.
- Valid drivers license and ability to travel as required.
- Skilled communicator with various types of stakeholders and communities.
- Considerable understanding of historical and contemporary knowledge systems related to ecological and community health in Hawaii.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Masters degree in Public Health Public Policy Indigenous Studies Communications or Public Administration.
