Job Summary
Job Summary
Performs a variety of medical physics responsibiities including oversight for the physics/dosimetry area of the department; development of techniques used to standardize and calibrate imaging and therapy equipment; performs treatment planning for special cases; assists staff with simulations treatments and special device fabrication upon request; performs acceptance testing measurements commissioning and ongoing quality assurance testing fo linear accelerators treatment planning systems and other equipment; maintains quality assurance files for state inspections.
Responsibilities
- Assumes responsibility for general oversight of physics/dosimetry.
- Coordinates treatment planning processes and other procedures as indicated.
- Oversees quality control measures.
- Participates in Performance Improvement and radiation safety activities.
- Contributes to a positive work environment and the overall team effort of the department.
- Completes assigned goals.
Specifications
Experience
Minimum Required
- ABR certified; 5 years experience; previous Chief Physicist experience in hospital-based Radiation Oncology program
