Veterinary Urgent Care Center (VUCC) Worcester is looking to add a Full-Time Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) to our growing team! About the Hospital
Our four-doctor urgent care hospital bridges the gap between general practice and emergency medicine by treating non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries in dogs and cats. We are committed to providing exceptional patient care while delivering an outstanding client experience.
Conditions We Commonly Treat
- Vomiting and diarrhea
- Ear and skin infections
- Lameness and minor injuries
- Allergic reactions
- Wounds and abscesses
- Urinary concerns
- Minor surgical procedures
- In-house diagnostics and imaging
Depending on the veterinarian on duty we may also see select exotic pets.
What Youll Do
As a Certified Veterinary Technician youll be an essential member of our medical team utilizing your skills every day in a collaborative supportive environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Triage urgent care patients
- Obtain patient histories and perform treatments
- Place IV catheters and collect laboratory samples
- Assist with diagnostics and imaging
- Monitor anesthesia and assist with minor surgical procedures
- Administer medications and treatments
- Communicate with clients regarding treatment plans and home care
- Collaborate closely with doctors to provide efficient high-quality patient care

- Utilize Your Full Skillset: Youll be a vital part of the medical team providing comprehensive patient care including administering treatments monitoring anesthesia and performing lab work.
- Be a Leader and Mentor: Youll guide and support the medical team ensuring an efficient workflow while mentoring others to help them grow their skills and careers.
- Partner with Clients: Youll be a key point of contact for pet owners educating them on treatments reviewing medical records and confidently answering their questions.
- Contribute to a Positive Culture: Youll play an active role in training providing feedback and maintaining the high standards of our hospital environment.
- Graduate of an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technician program.
- A current state veterinary technician license in good standing.
- Proficiency in a range of technical skills including nursing surgery dental care radiology and laboratory procedures.
- A calm and efficient approach especially in fast-paced or stressful situations.
- Strong communication skills and a passion for working collaboratively.
- One year of experience in the veterinary industry is preferred.
