Position Summary
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking a Certified OR Tech / Surgical Tech (CST) to support surgical and sterile processing operations within a hospital setting. The role involves preparing sterilizing and maintaining surgical instruments and ensuring strict adherence to infection control and sterile processing standards.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare clean inspect sterilize and distribute surgical instruments and medical equipment
Operate autoclaves gas sterilizers and related sterilization equipment per hospital protocols
Maintain strict sterile technique and infection prevention standards in all processes
Assist operating room staff with case setup and instrument preparation
Inspect and assemble surgical trays ensuring proper functionality and completeness
Maintain inventory and organize sterile processing supplies
Document sterilization cycles and maintain accurate processing records
Handle transportation of surgical equipment and instrument trays safely
Follow all hospital safety policies and regulatory compliance standards
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent
Central Service Technician Certification required
Minimum 1 year of central sterile processing experience
Strong knowledge of surgical instruments autoclaves and sterilization systems
Understanding of infection control and sterile processing procedures
Ability to lift push and handle heavy instrument trays and equipment
Strong organizational and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) program completion preferred
CRCST certification preferred
Prior experience in a Level I Trauma Center preferred
3 years of sterile processing experience preferred
