Job Overview
A healthcare facility in Flushing New York is seeking an experienced Certified OR Tech / Surgical Tech for a mid-shift assignment supporting surgical and central processing operations. The ideal candidate will have strong sterilization knowledge central processing experience and the ability to work in a fast-paced surgical environment.
Shift Details
- Monday Friday
- 3:00 PM 11:00 PM
- 8-week assignment
Responsibilities
- Support surgical services and sterile processing operations
- Prepare sterilize and distribute surgical instruments and equipment
- Operate autoclaves and gas sterilizers safely and effectively
- Maintain sterile technique and infection prevention standards
- Inspect instruments and trays for cleanliness and functionality
- Assist with equipment transport stocking and organization
- Ensure compliance with hospital sterilization and safety procedures
Requirements
- High School Diploma required
- Central Service Technician Certification required
- Minimum 1 year of central processing experience required
- Knowledge of surgical instruments autoclaves and gas sterilizers required
- Physical ability to lift push and pull heavy equipment required
- Strong organizational and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- CRCST certification preferred
- Certified Surgical Technologist course completion preferred
- On-the-job surgical tech training accepted
- Experience in Level 1 Trauma Centers preferred
- Minimum 3 years of trauma center experience preferred
