Position Overview
Are you passionate about helping individuals achieve their career goals and improve their quality of life We are seeking a Career Advisor I to provide career counseling workforce guidance and case management services to job seekers throughout the community.
In this role you will work directly with individuals seeking employment training and career advancement opportunities. You will help customers identify career pathways develop job search strategies access workforce programs and connect with resources that support long-term success.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive career assessments to evaluate customer interests skills abilities employment history and career goals.
- Provide career counseling and coaching to individuals including those facing significant barriers to employment.
- Guide customers through career exploration and workforce development programs.
- Assist participants with determining eligibility for workforce and grant-funded programs.
- Provide labor market information career pathway guidance and employment trends to support informed career decisions.
- Help job seekers develop resumes prepare for interviews and strengthen job search techniques.
- Conduct mock interviews and provide individualized career planning assistance.
- Educate customers on available training programs educational opportunities financial aid resources and scholarships.
- Refer participants to occupational training apprenticeship programs work-based learning opportunities and professional development resources.
- Prepare and submit Individual Training Accounts (ITA) work-based training requests and supportive service requests.
- Maintain ongoing communication and case management support for assigned customers.
- Monitor participant progress and provide follow-up services to support successful outcomes.
- Partner with business services teams to identify employment opportunities for participants.
- Proactively match qualified candidates with available job opportunities.
- Maintain accurate customer records case notes and service documentation within workforce management systems.
- Ensure compliance with all local state and federal program requirements and quality standards.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with customers community partners and internal teams.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience working with diverse populations and individuals from varying backgrounds.
- Strong organizational analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain detailed case records.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computer-based systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers coworkers community partners and stakeholders.
- Valid drivers license reliable transportation and proof of insurance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associates degree or Bachelors degree.
- Previous workforce development career counseling case management social services education or employment services experience.
- Knowledge of workforce development programs and community resources.
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills strongly preferred.
- Experience assisting customers with employment readiness career planning or training services.
