The State of Utah Labor Commission has a vacant Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspector position open in the Boiler Elevator and Coal Mine Safety Division. This position offers full medical dental and vision insurance from day one 12 paid holidays vacation and sick leave accrual and much more!
**You will be required to come to the office your first day then will be assigned a state vehicle which is equipped with your virtual office. This position requires frequent in-state travel occasional meetings at the office and will be scheduled to work four 10-hour days per week.
Key Responsibilities Day-to-day responsibilities of this position: As the Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspector you will be responsible for jurisdictional inspection of boilers and pressure vessels for compliance. Due to the minimal supervision of the position we need a self-starter with high integrity. You will be required to pass the National Board examination within 6 months of being hired. This position also requires frequent in-state travel and the use of a state vehicle which is equipped with a virtual office. Once certified this is not an office job. - Risks which require the use of special safety precautions and/or equipment e.g. working around operating machines working with contagious diseases or hazardous chemicals etc. Inspection sites may include construction sites prisons hospitals refineries etc.
- Work requires physical exertion. May require the ability to stand; walk over rough surfaces; bend crouch stoop stretch reach lift moderately heavy items (up to 50 lbs.) in a recurring manner and/or for long periods of time. Must be able to enter confined spaces as defined in OSHA standards. May be required to perform inspections in a variety of uncomfortable locations due to placement within the facility.
