Personal Responsibilities:
Attitude and appearance
- Maintain a positive and friendly outlook
- Bartenders should be enthusiastic and ambitious abouttheir job
- Problems should be left at home
- Performance should reflect a healthy and positiveattitude
- Always maintain suitable appearance and uniform for thisposition (according to the grooming and uniform policy)
- Uniform must be cleaned and pressed
- Hair must be cleaned and styled in an appropriatemanner
- Basic hygiene must be adhered to
Opening Duties
- Arrive on time and ready for work
- Accurately complete all assigned side-work for opening ofthe bar (according to the side-work sheet)
- Stock all areas of the bar (according to the bar-stocksheet)
- Do weekly side-work duties (according to the weeklyside-work sheet)
- Complete opening cashiering responsibilities
- Ensure that the appearance of the bar is neat cleanattractive and that all equipment is functioning
Guest Relations
These responsibilities if excellently fulfilled canachieve the result that the guest is satisfied and lets us know by commentsreturn business and/or gratuities
- Acknowledge guests/servers. Guests should be acknowledgedin less than two minutes
- Provide information on other hospitality facilities thelocal area and directions for guests
- Provide menus and inform guests of specialsentertainment etc.
- Stay aware of current events news and sports
- Create a friendly and comfortable atmosphere and mood atthe bar (lights are dim in the evening)
- Answer the phone in a professional manner
- Offer courtesy gestures
- Go above the expectations of the guest (offer additionalservices and recognize special events
Service
Level of performance should be the same regardless of whois being served
- Combine set-up and guest relations responsibilities withservice. To successfully conduct this positions basic function these relatedresponsibilities must be completed with excellence and incorporated into a toilservice concept
Serving guests and server station
- Drinks are served within three minutes of ordering
- Tickets do not build up
- A comfortable working relationship is maintained withco-workers free of agitation and inconsistent service
- Drinks contain proper proportions with attractiveappearance and presentation
- Quality of drinks is consistent
- Drinks are always served with a napkin
- Clean ashtrays (should be cleaned after one butt)
- Continually monitor bar and bar area to see that guestsare cared for. There should be no complaints about service or lack ofit.
- If host/hostess are not present or not scheduled it isyour job to acknowledge the guest and seat them if necessary
Cashiering
- Follow proper guidelines for setting up bank. Each bankhas $300.00. Bank should have enough change to last through shift.
- Follow proper procedures for ringing cash checks andcharges immediately and accurately according to procedures. Ensure no checksare left open at the end of the shift
- Give correct change and tips according toprocedures
Trouble Shooting
All procedures are to be followed promptly and accuratelyaccording to the training manual minimizing conflicts
- Monitoring guests
- Cutting off guests who are intoxicated
- Carding guests for proper identification
- Security problems
- Micros breakdowns
- Taps soda and CO2 changing
Closing Procedures
- Be sure last call is given at proper time every nightall guests have left the property at the designated time there are nodisturbances. Last call is 30 minutes prior to closing unless a specialfunction is taking place or guests are still in the restaurant dining. DRINKSMAY NOT BE SERVED PAST THE LEGAL TIME REQUIRMENTS AS STATED BY WISCONSINLAW
- Complete all assigned closing side-work (check side-worksheet) Bar should be left neat and clean and ready for next shift
- Fill out requisition form for replacement of alcohol andbeverages. Empty alcohol bottles should be left with requisition form. A fullbottle is only issued upon receipt of an empty bottle
- Obtain permission from the manager on duty before leavingvenue
- Have trash removed at the end of the evening
Staff Meetings
- Be present and prompt at all mandatory staff meeting should be attended with enthusiasm
- Offer constructive ideas for improvements problemsolving and continued training
This is a casual part-time position working weekends and weekdays. Hours vary between 9:00 am - 11:00 pm.
Skills/Requirements
- High School Diploma
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Previous bartending experience is preferred
Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
The hourly range for this position is $9.80 - $14.70 plus tips/gratuity. The specific hourly rate offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidates experience their education and the work location.
