Job Summary

Position Overview:

We are seeking an Aviation Supply Chain Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide senior-level aviation supply chain expertise in support of the design architecture and development of an AI-enabled Supply Operations Center. This role will serve as the functional bridge between stakeholders and technical teams helping ensure the solution reflects operational supply chain processes decision-making and readiness requirements. The SME will also support process improvement and enterprise architecture activities as the project evolves.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Aviation Supply Chain & Functional Expertise
    • Serve as the functional subject matter expert for aviation supply operations including material planning buy/repair decisions inventory positioning Fleet support contracting repair and readiness management.
    • Partner with technical SMEs at JMA and government customer organizations to design and refine the AI/ML-enabled Supply Operations Center.
    • Serve as the primary functional bridge between operators and technical teams ensuring the solution reflects how planners contracting officers engineers and DoD stakeholders make and execute aviation supply chain decisions.
  • Process Improvement & Requirements
    • Assess current-state workflows decision points business rules data dependencies pain points and manual workarounds to identify bottlenecks and recommend process improvements.
    • Develop and validate operational personas and target-state workflows for key Supply Operations Center users including Supply Chain Planners Contracting Officers engineering personnel and DoD leadership.
    • Translate operational requirements decision logic and information needs into clear user stories use cases acceptance criteria data specifications and test scenarios.
  • Testing Analytics & Solution Validation
    • Validate AI-generated insights predictive analytics courses of action and model outputs against operational processes Client Working Capital Fund requirements and client readiness needs.
    • Support prototype and demonstration development User Acceptance Testing (UAT) test-case development functional defect triage and operational KPI and readiness metric development.
  • Cross-Functional & Enterprise Architecture Support
    • Participate in structured enterprise architecture mentorship and hands-on architecture activities with a senior enterprise architect to support future architecture modeling and process transformation efforts.
    • Support related cross-functional project needs including user story development data validation sprint planning and other priorities as project requirements evolve.
    • Carry out other related duties as assigned to support evolving client project and company needs.


Clearance Level:

  • Current or ability to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Clearance is required.Note: To obtain a security clearance you must be a U.S. citizen and meet the 13 adjudicative guidelines.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience:
    • 8 years of DoD supply chain logistics inventory management or weapon-system sustainment experience.
    • Aviation supply chain experience with comprehensive knowledge of material planning repair cycles procurement inventory positioning and Fleet support decision-making.
    • Working knowledge of supply and inventory management processes.
  • Education/Certification:
    • Bachelors degree in Logistics Supply Chain Business or a related field. Significant relevant DoD experience may substitute for the degree.
  • Skills:
    • Demonstrated ability to serve as the primary functional subject matter expert for an aviation supply chain domain while supporting related cross-functional project needs.
    • Ability to engage operational users and senior leaders facilitate working sessions collaborate effectively with technical teams and translate complex supply chain operations into clear requirements.
    • Knowledge of Fleet readiness and weapon-system sustainment.
    • Knowledge of supply planning buy/repair decision-making and inventory positioning.
    • Knowledge of business process analysis and transformation.
    • Experience developing operational personas use cases requirements and user stories.
    • Knowledge of supply chain KPIs and readiness analytics.
    • Familiarity with DoD ERP IRAS or enterprise logistics data and database structures.
    • Understanding of AI-enabled decision support and predictive analytics concepts.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience supporting DoD Aviation Supply Fleet Logistics Squadron Supply Type Commander (TYCOM) staff DoD operations or a related DoD environment.
  • Direct experience using DoD ERP IRAS or related Navy legacy supply systems and data architecture.
  • Experience supporting demand forecasting inventory optimization allowancing repairable management digital transformation ERP or the use of AI/predictive analytics in supply chain operations.
  • Masters degree DAWIA Life Cycle Logistics credential or equivalent advanced logistics experience.


Location & Commitments:

  • Position: Full Time
  • Work Arrangement: Onsite at our client site in Philadelphia Pennsylvania
  • Travel Requirements: May be required
  • Location Preference: Must reside within a 50-mile radius of Philadelphia Pennsylvania due to the on-site/hybrid nature of the position.
