Location: This is a hybrid role based in St. Louis MO offering a strong balance of in-office teamwork and work-from-home flexibility. Candidates must be licensed in Missouri. Relocation candidates are welcome but relocation assistance is not provided.

Note: Qualified candidates must be licensed to practice law in Missouri and have at least 2 years of insurance defense experience. Illinois licensure is a plus.

Job Description

• Handle a variety of civil defense and insurance defense litigation matters.
• Work on cases involving transportation liability premises liability product liability general liability and related defense matters.
• Draft pleadings motions discovery correspondence and other litigation documents.
• Take and defend depositions as appropriate based on experience level.
• Attend court hearings conferences mediations and other case-related proceedings.
• Conduct legal research and develop clear well-supported legal analysis.
• Communicate with clients opposing counsel courts experts and internal team members.
• Manage deadlines case strategy and file workup with strong attention to detail.
• Collaborate with experienced trial attorneys and gain meaningful litigation and courtroom exposure.

Qualifications

• Missouri Bar license required.
• 2 years of insurance defense experience required.
• Civil litigation experience required.
• Experience with transportation liability premises liability product liability or general liability preferred.
• Illinois Bar license is a plus.
• Strong legal writing research analytical and communication skills.
• Highly organized motivated and comfortable managing litigation deadlines.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid team environment.
