In this role the individual will be part of the Software Test team conducting software/hardware integration testing and formal qualification test (FQT) of Aerial Refueling and Mission System Software with a focus on leadership quality process improvement tool improvement and test automation.
We are seeking an individual that is passionate about aerospace and excited to work in a multi-disciplined collaborative engineering environment that supports the design development and implementation of software for existing and emerging government and international programs.
The Boeing KC-46 Pegasus is the new US Air Force aerial refueling tanker aircraft designed to support multi-role missions including refueling cargo/passenger transport and medevac airlift. The KC-46 is a military commercial derivative aircraft based on the Boeing 767-2C aircraft and modified per US Air Force specifications for the primary mission of aerial refueling US and Allied aircraft. The KC-46 is equipped with self-protection defensive and communication systems making it more survivable in a contested environment.
Position Responsibilities:
Supports the design development and completion of test and verification of software products to ensure quality reliability and functionality.
Participates in partnering with stakeholders to review and identify software requirements test objectives test strategies and testability.
Supports designing test plans cases and scenarios to meet software requirements and specifications.
Contributes to the set up and configuration of test environments including hardware software and network configurations to replicate production environments.
Supports executing test cases and scenarios to verify functionality performance and safety of software systems identifying and reporting defects issues and potential vulnerabilities found during testing processes.
Contributes to providing test results and feedback on software design and functionality to resolve defects issues and potential vulnerabilities.
Supports creating documenting and maintaining test plans procedures cases artifacts metrics and data in accordance with data privacy and security protocols and standards.
Supports developing and maintaining automated test scripts and frameworks to improve efficiency and effectiveness of testing processes.
Contributes to software project management functions across test and verification activities involving multifunctional teams.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering discipline or 4 years equivalent related experience
2 or more years of experience designing and developing software test plans test cases and test procedures
2 or more years of experience executing software test procedures/cases
Ability to obtain Final Post Start Security Clearance
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience in software development using languages such as C C Java or Ada
Experience using team collaboration tools including GitLab Bitbucket JIRA and Confluence
Experience in software development processes in compliance with established internal and industry standards guidelines and best practices in the development testing and deployment of software
Knowledge of verification validation certification and qualification processes and procedures including knowledge of governing regulations and compliance requirements
Knowledge of appropriate customer or governmental regulations relevant to design test and certification (e.g. DO-178B/C)
Knowledge of how to derive and allocate requirements (e.g. system sub-system software) and show traceability throughout the product lifecycle
Knowledge of the full software development life cycle (requirements design code test and certification)
