Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Assistant School Age Teacher/Driver to add to our growing team at our Gold (SUTQ) NAC-accredited childcare and preschool center located in Cleveland Ohio.
You will be an essential member of a team of qualified teachers who are talented fun and genuinely enthusiastic about child development and learning. You must be comfortable working with groups of children ranging from 5 years of age to 12 years of age. We offer competitive pay ranging from$15.00 to $18.00 per hour(depending on experience and credentials) in addition to anindustry-leading benefits package underscoring our commitment to attracting and retaining top-quality educators and supporting staff members.

- Driving a 14-passenger school bus.
- Potential Candidate should have previous driving experience and be comfortable with groups of children (5 years of age - 12 years of age).
- Assist in documentation for attendance and transportation services provided.
- Bus inspections maintaining scheduled bus/van maintenance and bus cleaning is required daily.
- Assist in delivering learning experiences tailored to the developmental needs of your students.
- Assist with maintaining schedules and routines to ensure adequate physical activity rest and playtime.
- Conducting daily duties such as serving meals toileting/changing pull ups recording daily reports/attendance covers breaks fill in during staff absence engage in play and other daily activities.
- Maintain a healthy and safe environment for all children.
- Attend and participate in Center-provided meetings and trainings to comply with state regulations for child care professionals.
Requirements
- Minimum of a high school diploma/GED.
- Possession of a CDA AA or higher degree in Early Childhood Education Child Development or a related field is a plus but not required for this position
- At least one year of child care experience working in a licensed ODJFS child care program.
- Experience teaching and working with children between the ages of 5 years and 12 years.
- A valid drivers license with a clean driving record.
- Comfortable driving a 14-passenger bus.
- Experience driving a school bus or similar vehicle preferred.
- Familiarity with safety procedures and regulations related to transporting children.
- Seasonal requirements would include field trips and some supervision support while there.
- Current physical and ability to pass BCI/FBI background check.
- Basic language written and computer skills necessary for communication and documentation.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team of teachers and support staff.
- Reliable compassionate and able to create a warm nurturing and responsive environment for children and families.
- Must be dependable and maintain a good work record as to punctuality and daily attendance.
- Applicants must possess current legal authorization to work in the United States.

Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Ability to kneel bend squat stand and sit on child-sized furniture or on the floor for extended periods.
- Ability to repetitively lift and move children with a weight capacity of up to 50lbs.
- Comfort working in a moderate to noisy environment.
- Preparedness to assist children in emergency situations.
- Physical ability to stay within arms reach of children ensuring proximity and safety.
- Participation in safety drills adhering to guidelines including relocating children which may involve moving cribs with multiple children to designated safe areas.
- Endurance to withstand varying outdoor conditions and temperatures for prolonged durations throughout all seasons.
