Assist with the development monitoring and use of information systems to maintain records and to track progress on-campus performance objectives and academic excellence indicators. School/Organizational Climate Promote a positive caring climate that reflects an orderly purposely active and pleasant place of well-directed learning and interpersonal caring. Hold the belief that each student can and will perform up to high standards of achievement and behavior. Communicate effectively with all stakeholders. Articulate the schools mission to the community and solicit its support in realizing the mission. Demonstrate awareness of school-community needs and initiate activities to meet those needs. Use appropriate and effective techniques to encourage community and parent involvement. Personnel Management Consistently apply the principles of instructional employee performance record observations and conduct evaluation conferences. Serve as second appraiser for designated teacher appraisal system. Assist the principal in interviewing selecting and orienting new staff. Participate and assist in the coordination of and assist in the coordination of staff development Administration and Fiscal/Facilities Management Supervise operations in principals absence. Assist with the development of daily school activities including planning and coordination of class schedules teacher assignments and extracurricular activity schedules. Supervise reporting and monitoring of student attendance and work with the attendance clerk on follow-up investigations. Participate in the development management and implementation of the approved school budget; report all activities to the principal as with elementary teacher leaders and faculty to compile annual budget requests based on documented program supplies textbooks and equipment; maintain textbook and instructional resources inventory; maintain records and verify receipts for materials. Assist with state and district assessment with Response to Intervention (Rti) Section 504 and Admission Review Dismissal (ARD) and maintain elementary LPAC with safety inspections and safety-drill practice activities. Coordinate transportation custodial cafeteria and other support services as required. Comply with federal and state laws State Board of Education rule and board policy. Student Management Assist with the implementation of student discipline management system that results in positive student behavior and increased academic that students are appropriately supervised at all times including during non-instructional times/ that school expectations are fairly observed and that student discipline is appropriate and and participate as necessary in conferences on student and school issues with parents students and teachers. Professional Growth and Development Participate in professional development to maintain certification and improve skills related to job assignment. Supervisory ResponsibilitiesShare supervisory responsibility for professional staff with the principal. Supervise teachers custodians paraprofessionals clerical personnel and others as duties as assigned. Professional Requirements:Maintain strict confidentiality regarding information concerning students parents staff and classroom to ethical and legal standards and model behavior that is professional and responsible. Participate in approved professional development to improve skills related to job assignment. Follow NYOS standard procedures for communication interaction and discipline as outlined in the NYOS Staff Handbook.
