Assistant Director of Nursing

Under the direction of the Kane Community Center Administrator the Director of Nursing is responsible for planning organizing developing and directing all Nursing Department operations in accordance with Professional Nursing Law and applicable federal state and local regulations governing long-term care facilities.

• Registered Nursing Degree/Diploma from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum 3 years of supervisory skilled nursing experience in a Long-Term Care (LTC) facility.
• Current unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the practicing state.
• Current CPR certification.
• Ability to work beyond normal business hours including weekends and holidays.
• Must be available on call 24/7.

• Direct and oversee all Nursing Department operations.
• Supervise develop and evaluate nursing staff.
• Participate in recruitment hiring scheduling and disciplinary actions.
• Conduct resident rounds and provide direct nursing care when needed.
• Ensure compliance with federal state and local LTC regulations.
• Lead Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives.
• Collaborate with physicians consultants and interdisciplinary teams.
• Oversee infection prevention and control programs.
• Prepare for regulatory inspections and implement corrective actions.
• Investigate resident incidents and ensure resident safety.
• Serve as Administrator in their absence.

• Long-term care nursing practices and regulations.

• Microsoft Office Suite.
• Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
• Leadership and staff management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

• Manage a large diverse nursing workforce.
• Ensure high-quality resident care and regulatory compliance.
• Communicate effectively with clinical and administrative staff.
• Work with elderly disabled and medically complex residents.
• Promote workplace safety and infection prevention.
• Participate in emergency response and resident evacuation when required.

• Full-time.
• Must work evenings weekends and holidays as needed.
• 24/7 on-call availability required.

• Successful background check.
• Allegheny County Real Estate Tax status verification.
• Drug screening (within 48 hours of conditional offer).
• Medical examination if required.

• Must become an Allegheny County resident within one year of appointment.

• Experienced RN leader with strong Long-Term Care supervisory experience.
• Proven experience managing nursing operations staffing compliance infection control and quality improvement initiatives.
• Strong leadership organizational and communication skills.
