Nesco Resource has partnered with a well-established nationally recognized company with a long-standing presence in critical infrastructure and public identify a Paralegal in NYC (hybrid). This is a long term temporary opportunity that is scheduled for approximately 6 months with high likelihood of extension.
This is a hybrid/ role working 4 days onsite (after training 2-3 months training)
Shift/Schedule: 830am 5pm

Responsibilities/Job Description:
- Assist attorneys in the preparation of pending litigation actions; prepare and draft pleadings and responses to discovery demands served on or by the Company.
- Handle extensive document production and coordinate the preparation of information in an efficient and timely manner.
- Maintain case files.
- Coordinate with and advise management personnel providing documents in response to discovery requests.
- Analyze documents and catalog exhibits.
- Perform legal research and cite check briefs.
- Prepare all required legal documents.
- Monitor cases and handle other tasks related to litigation support.
- Perform other related tasks and assignments as required.
- Initiate / maintain legal holds (via software) Knowledge of court deadlines review of CPLR and other court/procedural rules related to deadlines and submission requirements and calendaring deadlines
- Maintain electronic document repositories and document review platforms/software
- Handle e-filing of documents on PACER and NYSEF
- 3 years of paralegal experience
- Strong background in drafting discovery responses discovery demands and various types of motions.
- Must have New York Insurance Defense Litigation experience and Asbestos experience and well-versed in New York Practice.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Good faith letter writing
- Extensive experience in processing authorizations
Education or Certification Requirement:
- Paralegal Certificate and/or Associates/Bachelors Degree preferred; equivalent litigation paralegal experience considered
