Location & commitments

Full Time/Part Time/Temporary/Supplemental roles based at our Greenville location Monday-Friday 7:30a.m. 5:30 p.m. Early and late hours required. Occasional overtime may be required. Weekend work is rare but can occasionally be necessary.


Supervision Received: Reports to Clinical Supervisor; Operations or Clinical Manager; Director of Operations.


Supervision Exercised: None.


Typical Physical Demands: Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients manual and dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Involves standing and walking. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 100 pounds. Requires normal visual acuity and hearing. Requires exposure to bodily fluids.


Typical Working Conditions:

Frequent exposure to communicable diseases toxic substances medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinic environment.


About the role

The Certified Nursing Assistant/Nursing Assistant/Medical Assistant works interdependently with other medical professionals to provide quality health care to a high volume of patients. Nursing Assistants/Medical Assistants provide direct patient care for and treats patients in the office as directed by Physician Advanced Practice Provider Registered Nurse or Supervising Manager.


Responsibilities: (This list may not include all the duties assigned.)

  • Assistspatients toexamroom and prepares patients for examination.Identifiespatients with special needsandassistswithaccommodation forneeds.
  • Assistpatientto complete health history.
  • Performaccuratemeasurement of vital signs includingorthostaticblood pressure temperature pulse body weight height and completeappropriatehealthhistoryquestions pharmacyandpcpinformation.
  • Recordall allergies medications and pertinent lab work on flow sheets.
  • Under clinical supervision performsdelegatedprocedurescommon to the specialty area in a safe effective manner according to Policy and Procedures.
  • Disinfect exam roomsin-betweenpatients.
  • Orders stocks andmaintainsexam rooms and clinic areas.
  • Performs related and delegated tasks taking and relayingmessagesand directing patient flow.
  • Notify patients of normal lab results.

Other duties:

  • Maintains patientconfidentially.
  • Keepmanagementinformed of high-risk situations.
  • Demonstrateappropriate usein cleaning of equipment.
  • Practice infection control following OSHA guidelines and office policy.
  • Maintain Medical Assistant certificationand orrecertification. If not certified at the time of employment will have90 daysto complete certification or employment will beterminated.
  • Maintain CPR certification.
  • Attend fire safety classes clinical meetings compliance and other continuing education classes as offered by Physicians East.
  • Adheres to department and office policies.

Candidate requirements

Graduate of Clinical Assistant or Nursing Assistant program is required. Prior healthcare experience required. Job experience may be substituted in lieu of the educational requirement.

  • Experience in electronic medical records (EMR/HER) softwarerequired.
  • Professional demeanor and recognition of privacy considerations for patients and families.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills andabilityto communicate and interact professionally with others.
  • Ability to actively listen.
  • Ability toobserveand to draft a narrative account of events accurately and cogently in grammatically correct English.
  • Ability to spellproofreadand edit written text.
