Job Summary
Summary: Responsible for providing advanced technical support and expertise to the anesthesia care team. Does this position require Patient Care YesEssential Functions:
-Collaborate with the anesthesia care team to prepare and set up equipment and supplies required for anesthesia administration during surgical procedures.
-Assist in patient positioning monitoring vital signs and administering anesthesia-related interventions as directed by the anesthesia provider.
-Prepare and maintain anesthesia workstations including anesthesia machines monitors ventilators and other specialized equipment.
-Ensure the availability functionality and proper calibration of anesthesia equipment and troubleshoot any technical issues that may arise during procedures.
-Work closely with operating room staff surgeons and other healthcare professionals to facilitate smooth operations.
-Maintain accurate and up-to-date records related to marking room operations inventory and equipment maintenance.
-Principally responsible for new hire training of Anesthesia Technician I.
-Educator for Technician I for career ladder advancement.
-Provides cadence for refresher training for Technicians to maintain skill set (i.e. cardiac airway support)
-Work directly with Manager to coordinate schedule content organization and implement annual skills assessment and review.
-Work directly with Manager to design additional training sessions as needed based on the skills assessment.
- Liaison for ASATT regional program director for increased participation in certification program:
o Maintain roster of Certified Techs vs Uncertified Techs
o Lead engagement on the program and encourage CEUs
o Encourage continue education and local ASATT conference participation
-Collaboration as needed with Anesthesia leadership at other entities across the system in partnership with local leadership.
-Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent required; Associates Degree Related Field of Study required

Licenses and Credentials: Basic Life Support BLS Certification - Data Conversion - Various Issuers preferred Certified Anesthesia Technician Cer.A.T - American Society of Anesthesia Technologists and Technicians preferred Medical Technician New Hampshire - New Hampshire Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy preferred
Experience: Anesthesia Technician Experience 2-3 years required
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Extensive knowledge of anesthesia procedures pharmacology and patient monitoring techniques.
- Strong understanding of infection control protocols and safety practices in the operating room environment.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced high-pressure environment and prioritize tasks accordingly.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with the anesthesia care team patients and other healthcare professionals.
- Detail-oriented mindset and the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
