Job Summary
Millimans Data Science Modeling Practice is seeking a highly motivated Analytics Intern to support healthcare analytics health policy research technical communications and client-facing presentation development. This role offers exposure to a wide range of projects involving healthcare financing health insurance population health risk adjustment value-based care and emerging health policy issues across major global economies.
The ideal candidate combines strong analytical capabilities with excellent communication skills and can translate complex technical concepts into clear accessible language for diverse audiences in both English and Chinese.
The duration of this internship will be July to August 2026 and will be approximately 30 hours per week with potential for extension depending on project needs and performance.

What You Will Do
In this role you will:
- Support development of client presentations executive summaries technical reports and proposal materials.
- Draft and edit professional content in both English and Chinese.
- Translate complex healthcare economic actuarial and policy concepts into language that is understandable to non-technical audiences.
- Assist with PowerPoint development data visualization and presentation design.
- Summarize research findings and communicate key implications for business policy and healthcare stakeholders.
- Conduct research on healthcare systems health policy developments and emerging industry trends in the United States China and other major economies.
- Analyze datasets metadata and healthcare-related information to identify patterns trends and insights.
- Participate in virtual team meetings and occasional in-person meetings in the Boston area.
What We Are Looking For
Professional Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a graduate-level program preferably an MPH or MPP candidate.
- Native or near-native proficiency in both English and Chinese (Mandarin) with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong technical writing and presentation development skills.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate abstract specialized or technical concepts in a clear and approachable manner.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while managing multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with healthcare policy healthcare financing insurance population health health economics or related fields.
- Experience conducting literature reviews policy research or data analysis.
- Knowledge of major health policy topics and healthcare reform initiatives in the United States China Europe or other major economies.
- Experience with data visualization metadata analysis or healthcare datasets.
- Familiarity with healthcare terminology reimbursement systems or health services research.

The Team
Millimans Data Science & Modeling (DSM) Practice applies advanced analytics health economics actuarial science and data science to help healthcare organizations address complex business financing and policy challenges. The practice supports projects involving healthcare utilization risk adjustment predictive modeling reimbursement insurance product design population health and health policy analysis.
This internship will primarily support a major international health insurance analytics engagement focused on developing data-driven approaches for commercial health insurance pricing healthcare cost and utilization modeling diagnosis and procedure classification reimbursement analytics and executive-level client communications. The project requires close attention to healthcare data structure clinical and coding logic insurance benefit design and the translation of complex analytical methods into clear bilingual materials for senior stakeholders.
Location
This is a remote position. Candidates hired into this role may work remotely anywhere in the US. Occasional travel to the office in Boston MA will be required for in-person meetings. The expected application deadline for this job is June 15 2026.
Compensation
The overall range for this role is $19 - $43 per hour. For candidates residing in:
- Alaska California Connecticut Illinois Maryland Massachusetts New Jersey New York City Pennsylvania Virginia Washington or the District of Columbia the range is $21 - $43 per hour.
- All other locations the range is $19 - $35 per hour.
A combination of factors will be considered including but not limited to education relevant work experience qualifications skills certifications etc. This is a non-exempt overtime eligible role; overtime eligible after 40 hours of work.
