Job Summary

AEROSPACE WELDER
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Welds metal parts together using both GMAW and GTAW processes
  • Operates Robotic Welding Machine
  • Performs related tasks such as hand grinding and rolling of Sheetmetal
  • Positions and clamps together components of fabricated metal products preparatory to welding.
  • Dimensionally and visually inspect parts for adherence to customer requirements prior to NDT being inspected on parts.
  • Reads routers blueprints and sketches of part to determine dimensional specifications and operating requirements
  • Performs required preventative maintenance procedures on assigned welding equipment within specified time frames
REQUIREMENTS:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • You must have at least 1 to 2 years of GTAW experience
  • The ability to pass the supplied Robotic Welding Class.
  • Must be able to qualify to AWS D17.1 class A.
  • Blueprint reading ability to interpret welding symbols and call outs on prints provided...
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and blueprints in English as required.
  • Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to learn new welding techniques with the different types and grades of steel that you work on.
  • Ability to weld thickness ranging from .063 and thicker.
  • The ability to lift 40lbs safely.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The position requires frequent lifting pushing and pulling objects that are 50 pounds or heavier.
