Job Summary
- Performs various secretarial duties for department leaders such as filing answering phones and taking messages handling information requests data entry and other similar tasks.
- Performs clerical duties including data typing copying and taking minutes at meetings.
- Orients visitors to the department and/or facility.
- Distributes daily mail and maintains filing system to include databases and creating and maintaining online files.
- Completes special projects and related duties as assigned.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
- Performs other duties as required.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and three to five years of secretarial experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous experience working for senior level manager and/or supporting multiple managers.
- Typical office environment occasionally stands and walks frequently sits. Typically requires routine use of personal computer and general office equipment.
- Noise level is moderate.
- No certifications or licenses are required.
- Ability to read and speak English in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the associates are required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers the manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English).
- Exceptional organizations skills; maintains accuracy and neatness; ability to multitask; attention to detail.
- Is willing and able to learn new skills and is highly trainable.
- Works well in a fast paced and changing environment.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills including but not limited to use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to accurately type at least 50 words per minute.
- Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Ability to compose letters and to facilitate phone calls and general inquiries sensibly.
