This talented individual will be responsible for performing legal clerical and secretarial duties as required. This may include but is not limited to transcribing and typing correspondence memoranda project work proofreading and ensuring quality of legal documents. You will thrive in this role if you have:2 years of experience as a legal administrative assistantExperience in/with business immigration (preferred)High school diploma or equivalent; associates degree (preferred)Exceptional oral and written communication and organizational skillsSuperior client service and listening skills for anticipating needs of clients and attorneysProficiency with MS Office including Word Outlook and Excel and able to efficiently use technology resourcesThe Administrative Assistant will keep cases organized by establishing and organizing files; monitoring calendars; meeting deadlines; documenting actions; inputting information into file database and case management software; and confirming case status with attorney. Do you have the drive and desire to:Assist with nonimmigrant and immigrant visa filings organizing exhibitsAssist paralegals with preparation and filing of immigration petitionsCollect information and documentation from clients including initial screening of cold calls and client referralsAssist partners and attorneys in drafting client engagement lettersWrite proofread send file and manage correspondence memos pleadings contracts forms indices and other related documentsKeep clients informed by maintaining contact; communicating case progressEnter conflict information into the system for the purpose of running conflict checks for new clientsAssist with opening new matters and maintaining filesCoordinate mass mailings including filings with local state and federal courts and agenciesType from draft oral dictation or recordings a variety of correspondence and legal documents such as resolutions opinions contracts briefs leases and agreementsCoordinate travel arrangements securing air hotel and car plans for attorney and clientsProcess invoices and attorney expense reimbursement requestsAssemble document packages including copying tabbing and scanningAssist with other duties as neededHarris Beach Murtha recognizes everyone has a right to be included.
