AccountingFinance Intern
Job Summary
The Accounting Intern supports the CFO by performing basic accounting duties assisting with financial record-keeping and gaining exposure to tax preparation and compliance. This role provides practical experience in financial operations reporting and tax-related processes.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with preparing and maintaining financial records and reports
Perform data entry of financial transactions into accounting software
Help reconcile bank statements and accounts
Support accounts payable and receivable processes
Assist in preparing invoices expense reports and journal entries
Organize and file financial documents (physical and digital)
Help with month-end and year-end closing activities
Conduct basic financial analysis and research as needed
Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards
Assist with preparation of tax documents and filings
Support tax research and ensure compliance with federal state and local regulations
Help organize and maintain tax records and documentation
Assist during tax season with data collection and entry
Requirements
Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Accounting Finance or related field
Basic understanding of accounting principles (GAAP preferred)
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications
Familiarity with accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks SAP) is a plus
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Good organizational and time-management skills
