Job Summary
ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST / BOOKKEEPER (Permanent)
Our client a manufacturing wholesaler in WNY is looking to hire an Accounting Specialist / Bookkeeper to join their growing team. This role will support all accounting/bookkeeping functions and is an excellent opportunity for growth & professional development.
Responsibilities:
- Perform daily accounting functions including Accounts Receivable/Payable billing invoicing and payment processing
- Establish and maintain customer and vendor accounts with accuracy ensuring all financial tax and contact information is complete and up to date
- Manage tax exemption certificates and assist with sales tax compliance annual IRS reporting and New York State filing requirements
- Conduct project-related financial audits support external and internal audit processes and contribute to the preparation of quarterly financial statements and related reporting activities
- Maintain organized records of lien waivers certificates of insurance tax documentation and other essential project and financial files
- Utilize QuickBooks Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications to support accounting operations
- Identify opportunities and collaborate with internal team members to improve processes and implement new financial systems and technology solutions
- Provide general administrative support as needed including document management recordkeeping and handling incoming phone inquiries with professionalism and efficiency
- Work well both independently and in a team environment
- Other duties as assigned/as necessary
Details:
- Position is full-time direct hire
- 100% in-office Monday through Friday
- $25.00 30.00/hour depending on experience

- 1 year in accounting finance business administration or related
- Associates degree in Accounting Finance Business Admin or related
- Excellent computer skills including QuickBooks MSOffice (especially Excel)
- Strong organization skills and time management skills
- Strong attention to detail & accuracy
- Self-motivated but collaborative and team oriented
- Relocation not available
