911 Specialist I (911 Call Taker and Dispatcher 24 hour shift)

Ability to Communicate in an articulate manner by telephone and person-to-person. Ability to receive retain and transfer information often during intense stressful situations. Ability to speak clearly and articulate information over communications radios. Ability to utilize good spelling and grammar in written and electronic communications. Ability to become familiar with Communications Computer Systems for entering & retrieving information. Ability to multi-task type with speed and accuracy and work independently with minimum supervision. Ability to develop an excellent working knowledge of Wicomico County Geography & Landmarks. Ability to work 24/72-hour rotating shifts that include nights weekends and holidays 365 days a year and call-backs at any given time for emergencies disasters and weather events. Ability to obtain a passing score on the department issued CritiCall Call taking test. Ability to successfully pass drug screening and background check.
