Job Summary
Overview
Staff members at 4-H Family Camp work closely with youth and families to create a safe engaging and positive camp experience. Responsibilities include facilitating ropes course activities after provided training assisting with camp programs and classes supporting setup and cleanup loading and unloading supplies and helping with meal preparation and kitchen duties. Staff are expected to work collaboratively maintain a welcoming environment and assist with a variety of daily camp operations as needed.
Camp Schedule:
May 26th though May 29th between 9:00AM-6:00PM
Responsibilities
- Facilitate ropes course activities and assist participants following provided training and safety guidelines
- Support and engage youth and families in camp programs and activities
- Lead or assist with classes group activities and recreational programming
- Assist with daily camp setup breakdown and general operational needs
- Load unload organize and transport camp supplies and equipment as needed
- Assist with meal preparation serving kitchen cleanup and dining area maintenance
- Maintain a safe welcoming and inclusive environment for all campers and staff
- Supervise participants and help enforce camp rules safety procedures and expectations
- Work collaboratively with camp leadership and fellow staff members to ensure smooth camp operations
- Provide excellent communication professionalism and positive role modeling throughout camp activities
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the overall success of the camp program
Qualifications
- Must be available to work all scheduled camp dates and assigned hours including evenings and weekends as needed
- Must have reliable personal transportation to and from camp
- Ability to work effectively with youth families and fellow staff members in a team-oriented environment
- Willingness to participate in required staff training including ropes course facilitation training
- Ability to perform active camp duties including lifting setting up equipment loading/unloading supplies and working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Must maintain a positive professional and inclusive attitude while representing the camp and 4-H program

This position works in an active outdoor camp environment with frequent interaction with youth families and staff members. Duties may require standing walking lifting & carrying (up to 30 lbs) bending and moving equipment or supplies throughout the day. Staff may be exposed to varying weather conditions uneven terrain and physically demanding activities including ropes course facilitation and general camp operations. The position also requires strong communication teamwork problem-solving and the ability to maintain professionalism and positive engagement in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Staff must be able to adapt to changing schedules respond appropriately to participant needs and maintain focus on safety and supervision responsibilities at all times.
