Job Summary

Educational Experience/Requirements:

  • Preferred Major(s):Business HR Law Management

  • Preferred Level of Education:College sophomore and above

  • Required enrollment status: Full-time (as defined by your academic institution) in a degreeprogramat an accredited college or university in the Chicagoland area

Physical Requirements:

  • The demands associated with the normal office environment

  • Must be able tocomply withoffice policy to work on-site twice per week

  • Light physical activity including walking outdoors and climbing stairs

KnowledgeSkillsand Abilities:

  • Strong Microsoft Office and computer skills

  • Good oral and written communication skills

  • Excellent grammar and writing skills in preparing analysis

  • Good analytical and critical thinking skills

  • Good organizational skills with attention to detail

  • Good project management skills

  • Ability to research and comprehend material

Chicago Transit Authority is the second largest transit system in the country! Our college internshipprogramoffers summer and year-long internships that provide students with valuable work experience professional development and receive exposure to the discipline of the workplace and are guided by subject matter experts whoassistthem inacquiringthe skills knowledge and experience needed to perform in todays technically demanding at CTA work in a range of departments across the authority.

Our internships are project-based; therefore the skills that weseekvary based on the needs of the projects during each term. All majors are welcome to apply but please see education experience/requirements for specifics about what disciplines each internship project isseeking.

Internships are part-time (15 hours a week) during the school year.

In this role within theGeneral CounseldepartmentsLabor Relationsunit interns will:

  • Manage department documents files and data to be entered and updated

  • Assist in the preparation of grievance hearings and arbitrations

  • Help the director manager and labor reps on projects and day to day work especially around research

Primary work location for this role: CTA Headquarters (567 W. Lake Street Chicago Illinois 60661)

Final salary will be determined in part by the qualifications of the selected candidate and may be higher or lower than target.
