Planate Management Group (PMG) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria Virginia and Orlando Florida USA with a technical support center in South East Asia and East Africa that provides program management and facilities engineering services worldwide. Planate is a small business provider of planning design infrastructure management technical consulting engineering and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army Air Force Navy Marine Corps) missions along with other US federal agencies all over the world.
We are seeking a Chief Design Engineerwho will provide overall technical leadership for design development coordination and review of multidisciplinary engineering designs for infrastructure projects. You will provide strong engineering expertise design management capability and experience delivering complex projects in compliance with quality safety and regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities:
Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering design activities including structural mechanical electrical and related disciplines.
Oversee design development and design review to ensure technical accuracy constructability and compliance with applicable standards.
Ensure engineering designs align with project objectives budgets schedules quality standards and safety requirements.
Coordinate engineering inputs with architectural and other technical teams.
Support implementation of works under complex quality and safety management plans.
Provide technical oversight throughout the project lifecycle from concept through construction support.
Qualifications to be successful in the role:
Bachelors Degree in Building Engineering disciplines (Structural Mechanical Electrical or Elecrtical) with a minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience or a Masters Degree in the same disciplines with a minimum of seven (7) years of relevant experience.
Must have a valid Professional Certification authorizing relevant design activities for CC2 or CC3 category buildings/structures.
Minimum of seven (7) years of professional experience in design development and design review for infrastructure projects including: housing healthcare facilities institutional buildings critical infrastructure
Minimum three (3) years of experience serving in a Chief Design Engineer or equivalent senior engineering leadership role.
Extensive experience supporting or overseeing the implementation of works under complex quality and safety plans.
Strong technical leadership and coordination skills
In depth knowledge of engineering design standards and regulatory requirements
Ability to manage complex multidisciplinary design processes.
