Your Opportunity:
We are a small supportive childrens residential home based in Bacup providing high-quality trauma-informed care to young people. We are looking for a compassionate and reliable Waking Night Support Worker to join our close-knit team. This is an excellent opportunity to build a rewarding career in residential childcare within a nurturing and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide a safe nurturing and stable environment for young people throughout the night
- Monitor and respond to the physical emotional and behavioural needs of the children in your care
- Respond appropriately to incidents or disturbances and escalate where necessary
- Complete nightly health and safety checks
- Maintain a clean tidy and homely environment
- Carry out administrative duties maintain accurate records and complete handovers for the day team
- Follow care plans risk assessments and safeguarding procedures at all times
- Accurately record and report observations and incidents
Qualifications & Experience Required:
- Empathy patience and resilience
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure
- Ability to follow procedures and maintain accurate written records
- Flexibility to work a 3 on / 3 off shift pattern covering waking nights from 8:00pm to 8:30am
- Previous experience in a residential care setting is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided
