Are you ready to take the lead on a 25m capital programme and shape how a borough moves connects and grows As Transport & Major Works Manager you will report into the Head of Highways Parking & Transport and lead a team of 7 driving forward critical infrastructure transport strategy and public safety initiatives. This is your opportunity as a Transport & Major Works Manager to influence major transport schemes champion sustainable travel and deliver meaningful improvements for residents at scale.
You will take ownership of a diverse and high-impact portfolio; from transport strategies and major works delivery through to traffic signals structures and public transport partnerships. The Transport & Major Works Manager role puts you at the centre of decision-making balancing operational excellence with long-term strategic vision.
Your role as Transport & Major Works Manager:
Lead major infrastructure projects end-to-end from funding bids through to delivery
Drive transport strategy development including active travel public transport and road safety
Oversee highway assets including bridges street lighting and traffic signals
Manage contracts and budgets ensuring value for money and performance outcomes

Build strong stakeholder partnerships influencing across government and external agencies
Your experience as Transport & Major Works Manager:
Proven leadership in highways transport or infrastructure services within a public sector setting
Strong track record in delivering major capital programmes and contracts
Experience creating and implementing transport strategies and policy
Confidence managing budgets teams and complex stakeholder environments
Passion for sustainability innovation and improving community outcomes
Strong track record in delivering major capital programmes and contracts
