Job Summary

SLR have a fantastic new opportunity for someone currently at graduate or project engineer level and demonstrable experience of S278 and S38 in a consultancy to join our collaborative and growing Transport Engineering team.

The role

Your key duties will involve the preparation of detailed design feasibility studies and scheme reports on a variety of projects. Alongside this you will also have the opportunity to take responsibility for project management budgeting producing bill of quantities and costings.

  • Provide assurance that scheme designs comply with specification and agreed programme
  • Work to ensure designs comply with health and safety regulations and CDM requirements
  • Alongside colleagues ensure designs are assessed for environmental impacts


About you

We are looking for an Engineer with consulting experience around the design and management of the Section 278/38 process as well as:

  • Sound knowledge of the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges and Manual for Streets
  • Ability to engage and conduct effective negotiations with client stakeholders subcontractors and third parties
  • Understanding of Health & Safety legislation
  • Competent in use of CAD Vehicle Tracking and knowledge of Civil 3D
