Location: Fareham Hampshire
Salary: From 31899.92 per annum
Hourly Rate: 16.58 20.73 per hour
Working Hours / Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week including evenings weekends and sleep-ins
Employment Type: Permanent Full Time

Experience Required: Minimum 1 year within Childrens Residential Care
Qualifications Required: NVQ Level 3 in Childrens Residential Care (or equivalent)
Driving Requirement: Full UK Driving Licence required
The Home:
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Support Worker to join their childrens residential team in Fareham. This is an opportunity for a confident and capable senior practitioner to support the Registered Manager in delivering high-quality care safeguarding young people and leading shifts effectively.
This role would suit someone who enjoys mentoring junior staff taking ownership during shifts and creating a safe nurturing and structured environment where children and young people can thrive.
Who we are looking for:
We are looking for a Senior Support Worker who has previous experience within an Ofsted Registered Childrens Home and is confident managing challenging behaviours safeguarding responsibilities care planning and leading a team.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading and delegating the staff team to ensure shifts are effectively planned and managed
Supporting and supervising junior team members
Assisting the Registered Manager with delegated management responsibilities
Participating in on-call duties as required
Supporting the home to meet all safeguarding and regulatory requirements
Keeping up to date with relevant legislation policies and best practice
Maintaining a safe caring and structured environment
Challenging poor practice and escalating concerns appropriately
Recognising and celebrating young peoples progress and achievements
Managing challenging behaviours effectively
Attending professional meetings where required
Completing accurate reporting documentation and record keeping
Supporting individualised care planning
Encouraging young people with daily goals routines and activities
Promoting education independence and life skills
Undertaking Key Worker responsibilities

Important Screening Criteria:
NVQ Level 3 in Childrens Residential Care (or equivalent) is essential
Full UK Driving Licence is essential
Minimum 1 year Childrens Residential Care experience required
Individuals with only CQC experience and / or who have not worked in an Ofsted Registered Childrens Home will not be considered.
