Job Summary

Our client based in Bristol is looking for an experiencedSenior Practitionerto join theirFront Door Servicewithin Adult Social Care. This is a key leadership role focused on supporting decision-making screening referrals and ensuring high-quality safeguarding responses at the initial point of contact.

The successful candidate will act as a senior professional within the team supporting the Team Manager providing expert guidance to colleagues and deputising where required. The role requires a confident practitioner with advanced knowledge of legislation strong leadership capability and experience managing complex safeguarding and statutory work.

What will your responsibilities be

Supporting theFront Door function including screening new referrals and contributing to case allocation and workload management.

  • Providingprofessional consultation direction and supportto practitioners particularly in complex or high-risk situations.
  • Leading onsafeguarding decision-making including coordinating and chairing strategy discussions where required.
  • Undertakingstatutory dutiesin line with the Care Act Mental Capacity Act and safeguarding frameworks.
  • Managing acomplex caseload supporting adults and families where needs are challenging and require advanced practice skills.
  • Supporting thedevelopment of team practice including mentoring supervision and professional guidance to staff and students.
  • Assisting the Team Manager in maintaining apositive team culture performance standards and evidence-based practice.
  • Contributing tomulti-agency working ensuring integrated service delivery across partner organisations.

Qualifications and Experience:

To be successful in this role you must have;

  • Professional Qualification:MA BA BSc in Social Work Diploma in Social Work or CQSW (or Occupational Therapy qualification with HCPC registration).
  • Registration:Must be registered with Social Work England (or HCPC where applicable).
  • Experience:
    • Significant post-qualified experience within Adult Social Care
    • Strong background insafeguarding and complex casework
    • Experience providing supervision mentoring or leadership within a team setting

Legislation Knowledge:

    • Expert understanding of the Care Act 2014 Mental Capacity Act 2005 and safeguarding frameworks
    • Knowledge of Mental Health legislation is desirable

Skills:

    • Advanced assessment analytical and decision-making skills
    • Ability to lead practice manage risk and support others in complex scenarios
    • Strong communication and ability to chair meetings effectively

Desirable: Practice Educator AMHP or Best Interests Assessor qualification
