We are now looking for a commercially minded fully qualified Senior Management Accountant to join our talented finance team at our Kirby Muxloe head office. This is a high-visibility role offering direct regular exposure to our Group Financial Controller and CFO where your insights will directly influence strategic business decisions.

The Role: What Youll Do

As our Senior Management Accountant you will take full ownership of our end-to-end monthly management accounts process. You wont just be crunching the numbersyou will be interpreting them presenting them to senior leadership and business-partnering with Heads of Departments across the company to drive performance.

Key responsibilities include:

• Management Reporting & Insight: Own the preparation of monthly management accounts detailed P&L balance sheet and cash flow reporting. You will lead monthly review meetings with the Group FC and CFO providing clear commentary and constructive challenge.

• Strategic Business Partnering: Act as a trusted financial advisor to non-finance stakeholders translating complex data into clear actionable commercial insights.

• Financial Control & Compliance: Oversee balance sheet reconciliations maintain internal financial controls and take ownership of VAT computations and HMRC submissions.

• Audit & Statutory Support: Act as a primary point of contact for external auditors preparing schedules coordinating queries and supporting statutory accounts preparation.

• Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify risks and opportunities support the budgeting and forecasting cycles and drive process efficiencies to enhance our reporting capabilities.

Who We Are Looking For

This role is perfect for a resilient solutions-focused accountant who thrives in a fast-moving multi-site environment and has the confidence to challenge the status quo.

Essential Criteria:

• Qualifications: Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA).

• Experience: Strong management accounting experience gained within retail or a similarly fast-paced high-volume environment.

• Technical Skills: Proven experience owning end-to-end management accounts solid understanding of UK VAT/statutory requirements and advanced Excel skills.

• Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills with a proven track record of presenting financial data clearly to senior stakeholders.

Desirable Criteria:

• Experience specifically within discount/value retail or multi-site operations.

• Experience actively coordinating and supporting external statutory audits.
