About the FCA and team

We regulate financial services firms in the UK to keep financial markets fair thriving and effective. By joining us youll play a key part in protecting consumers driving economic growth and shaping the future of UK finance services.

The Revenue Operations team delivers the FCAs fee-raising function managing the modelling invoicing and collection of regulatory fees and levies to support the organisations Annual Funding Requirement. Acting on behalf of the FCA and other regulatory bodies the team maintains the integrity of the regulated population administers fees and charges provides specialist stakeholder guidance and supports policy and regulatory developments. In 2025/26 the team was responsible for collecting approximately 2.3bn in fees and levies.

Role responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a multi-disciplinary team building capability and succession planning while supporting continuous improvement improving controls and reducing operational risk

  • Oversee the end-to-end delivery of the FCAs fees modelling and invoicing processes ensuring outputs are accurate transparent and aligned with approved policy supported by robust data governance and controls

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of fees policy providing pragmatic advice on how regulatory change can be effectively translated into operational delivery across systems and processes

  • Oversee financial performance and reporting including month-end activity debt management and income tracking ensuring clear timely insight is provided to senior stakeholders

  • Build and maintain effective relationships across the FCA and with external regulatory bodies representing the Revenue function and shaping outcomes in a complex stakeholder environment

  • Provide oversight of key operational processes ensuring continuity of critical activities and that systems controls and financial frameworks support efficient compliant delivery

Skills required

Minimum

  • Team leadership: Proven experience in leading and developing teams to achieve results while promoting capability and continuous improvement

  • Analytical skills: Strong analytical abilities with experience in handling large and complex datasets generating insights and ensuring data accuracy and integrity

  • Stakeholder engagement: Proficient in managing relationships and communicating effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences in regulated environments

  • Fee structure knowledge: Familiarity with applying fee rules and policies to generate fees effectively

Essential

  • Fee policy expertise: In-depth knowledge of fee policies and their practical application in fee generation

  • Leadership and delegation: Ability to lead through challenges delegate tasks effectively and maintain accountability within the team

  • Delivery focus: Strong focus on managing priorities deadlines and ensuring high-quality outputs that meet governance risk and control standards

  • Problem solving: Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex issues and deliver effective solutions

  • Governance awareness: Experience in applying governance principles and maintaining operational efficiency
