What to expect

The Product Owner - People Applications is accountable for defining shaping and continuously evolving the people technology product estate working in close partnership with the People team to support the outcomes they are seeking to achieve for colleagues managers and the wider organisation.

This is a product-led role responsible for setting clear product direction vision and priorities for People applications. The role focuses on maximising product value ensuring alignment to People colleague manager and business outcomes and enabling simpler more effective digital experiences across the employee lifecycle.

The Product Owner will play a key role in the ongoing digital transformation of People services helping to modernise and optimise core people processes platforms and ways of working. Experience with SAP SuccessFactors is preferred alongside first-hand experience of taking organisations through transformation journeys from legacy or fragmented processes towards integrated data-led and user-centred people solutions.

The role will translate People strategy and business needs into a coherent product roadmap and prioritised backlog ensuring that investment and delivery decisions are driven by measurable outcomes adoption colleague experience operational efficiency compliance and long-term product sustainability.

Working closely with People Technology Transformation teams and third-party partners the Product Owner ensures People applications support evolving organisational needs and enable seamless end-to-end people journeys. They act as the voice of users and the People function balancing usability process effectiveness data quality compliance integration and operational resilience.

What youll need to succeed
Experience
  • Proven experience in a product ownership or product management role within complex enterprise-scale environments ideally supporting People HR colleague manager or corporate services products.
  • Strong experience defining and evolving People technology products or platforms preferably including SAP SuccessFactors and related employee lifecycle capabilities.
  • Experience setting product vision strategy and roadmaps with a clear focus on measurable People outcomes user needs value realisation adoption and service performance rather than delivery outputs alone.
  • Experience working within large-scale digital transformation programmes ideally involving the move from legacy or fragmented People processes to integrated data-led and user-centred platforms.
  • Experience managing and influencing across multiple delivery teams People stakeholders Technology teams transformation partners and third-party suppliers providing clear product direction rather than task-level control.
  • Experience translating People strategy colleague needs manager needs operational requirements and business priorities into coherent product priorities roadmaps and outcomes.
  • Experience balancing live service stability with ongoing product evolution particularly for business-critical People applications and processes.
  • Experience integrating People applications within complex enterprise architectures including dependencies across SAP SuccessFactors payroll identity finance reporting data integration and digital services.
  • Strong experience using data insight service performance and user feedback to drive product decisions continuous improvement adoption and colleague and manager experience.
  • Experience delivering improvements in colleague manager and People team experience particularly in employee lifecycle case management self-service workflow or service management environments.
  • Agile Product Ownership Product Management certification desirable such as SAFe Scrum Product Owner Scrum Master PO/PM or equivalent.
  • SAP SuccessFactors demonstrable hands-on experience with SuccessFactors modules is desirable.
