The Organisational Development (OD) team plays a crucial role in helping the council develop a flexible highly skilled and capable workforce. Our goal is to ensure we have the right people with the right skills and attitudes in the right jobs at the right time.
The OD Assistant supports these goals by providing essential administrative support for key OD processes and workforce development initiatives including training social worker practice education and the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) program.
The OD Assistant is line managed by the OD Delivery Manager though their daily tasks may be directed by other OD team members. This role requires a high standard of IT skills particularly in Microsoft Office programs along with general office experience within a large complex organisation.
The ideal candidate must be flexible and able to respond to competing demands prioritising their workload accordingly. Experience in operating under pressure and meeting tight deadlines is important.

Responsibilities
- Respond to learning and development enquiries from employees and external customers.
- Coordinate training courses inductions and workforce development activities.
- Manage bookings calendars venues resources and course administration.
- Maintain accurate learning records databases and training systems.
- Process purchase orders invoices and customer payments.
- Maintain training information and ensure records and communications are accurate and up to date.
- Provide flexible administrative support across the Organisational Development team
Qualifications
- A good standard of education such as A Levels NVQ Level 3 or equivalent experience.
- Strong administrative experience within a busy office environment.
- Good IT skills including Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience delivering excellent customer service to a range of stakeholders.
- Experience supporting learning training or workforce development activities would be an advantage.
