Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Level 3 or above Early Years Educator with extensive experience in supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to join our friendly and supportive Nursery team. This is a mixed role where you will provide targeted support for a child with vision impairment and global developmental delay while also working within the room to support all children and contribute fully as part of the team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualised support in line with the childs Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP).

  • Support the childs learning communication and development through play-based activities.

  • Adapt activities and environments to meet sensory and developmental needs.

  • Work closely with the room team SENCO and external professionals.

  • Support and engage all children in the room when appropriate.

  • Contribute to planning observations and assessments.

  • Promote inclusion and ensure the child feels safe valued and supported.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a high-quality learning environment.



Requirements

Essential Requirements:

  • Level 3 qualification in Early Years (or equivalent).

  • Extensive experience working with children with SEND.

  • Good understanding of EHCPs and inclusive practice.

  • Patient caring and committed to high-quality care and education.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • Flexible and proactive approach to supporting the setting.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Experience supporting children with vision impairment and/or global delay.

Required Skills:

Requirements (Essential Criteria) Successful candidates must meet the following non-negotiable criteria: Qualification: Level 3 early years education and childcare qualification or equivalent. Experience: Proven experience in working in an Early Year Setting. Knowledge: Detailed knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage and a sound understanding of childs development. Leadership Capability: Ability to lead a team of adults effectively. Safeguarding Compliance: This post requires an Enhanced Criminal Records Check (DBS). All candidates must be prepared to disclose any convictions or orders. We require a minimum of 2 references and right to work in the UK.
