Nursery Practitioner SEN
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Level 3 or above Early Years Educator with extensive experience in supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to join our friendly and supportive Nursery team. This is a mixed role where you will provide targeted support for a child with vision impairment and global developmental delay while also working within the room to support all children and contribute fully as part of the team.

Salary: 28250.30
Hours: 38.75 per week
Start Date: April 2026
Provide individualised support in line with the childs Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
Support the childs learning communication and development through play-based activities.
Adapt activities and environments to meet sensory and developmental needs.
Work closely with the room team SENCO and external professionals.
Support and engage all children in the room when appropriate.
Contribute to planning observations and assessments.
Promote inclusion and ensure the child feels safe valued and supported.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a high-quality learning environment.
Requirements
Essential Requirements:
Level 3 qualification in Early Years (or equivalent).
Extensive experience working with children with SEND.
Good understanding of EHCPs and inclusive practice.
Patient caring and committed to high-quality care and education.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Flexible and proactive approach to supporting the setting.
Desirable Requirements:
Experience supporting children with vision impairment and/or global delay.

Required Skills:
Requirements (Essential Criteria) Successful candidates must meet the following non-negotiable criteria: Qualification: Level 3 early years education and childcare qualification or equivalent. Experience: Proven experience in working in an Early Year Setting. Knowledge: Detailed knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage and a sound understanding of childs development. Leadership Capability: Ability to lead a team of adults effectively. Safeguarding Compliance: This post requires an Enhanced Criminal Records Check (DBS). All candidates must be prepared to disclose any convictions or orders. We require a minimum of 2 references and right to work in the UK.
Required Education:
Nursery Level 3 Qualification
