Do you thrive on organisation problem-solving and making a real impact on your local community Wiltshire Council is looking for a proactive and detail-focused Network Permit Officer to help keep our highway network moving safely and efficiently.


This vital role you will manage and assess a high volume of streetworks and permit applications ensuring compliance with the New Roads and Street Works Act the Traffic Management Act and Wiltshires Permit Scheme. Working closely with Network Coordinators utilities contractors and internal teams you will balance the need for essential works with the smooth operation of the countys road network.


As a key member of the Network Management team you will review permit applications set appropriate conditions challenge proposed methods and durations of work and identify non-compliance when necessary. Alongside this you will provide technical advice to stakeholders elected members and the public helping to ensure excellent customer service and transparent communication.


We are looking for someone with a strong understanding of streetworks legislation and network management principles excellent attention to detail and the confidence to make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills and the ability to interpret regulations and apply them to complex ever-changing situations are essential.
