Job Summary
Location: Enfield EN2 8JL
Pay Rate: 26.30 per hour (Umbrella)
Shift Pattern: 4 days on 4 days off 8:00am 8:00pm
Contract: Temporary assignment from 6th July 2026 to 1st September 2026
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join a facilities management team supporting a major hospital site in Enfield.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified engineer with experience in building services healthcare facilities or commercial maintenance environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on mechanical plant and equipment
- Responding to reactive maintenance requests and breakdowns
- Diagnosing faults and undertaking repairs to mechanical systems
- Maintaining heating ventilation air conditioning and water systems
- Ensuring statutory compliance and accurate maintenance records are maintained
- Assisting with plant inspections and operational checks
- Working closely with the wider engineering and facilities teams
- Adhering to all health safety and site-specific procedures
Requirements:
- Previous experience working as a Mechanical Engineer within facilities management healthcare commercial or industrial environments
- Relevant mechanical engineering qualification (City & Guilds NVQ HNC/HND or equivalent)
- Experience carrying out planned and reactive maintenance
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Good understanding of health and safety procedures
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
