What to expect

Were looking for a talented M365 Identity Engineer to join our Technology team and help support the critical identity and workplace platforms that enable colleagues across the Post Office network.

This is a hands-on engineering role where youll be responsible for implementing administering and continuously improving Microsoft 365 identity services. Working within the Identity & Workplace team youll help deliver secure resilient and supportable technology services while contributing to key projects and operational improvements.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong Microsoft 365 and identity management experience who enjoys technical problem-solving and working with modern cloud technologies.

  • Supporting and administering Microsoft 365 identity services including Entra ID Active Directory Group Policy Conditional Access Universal Print Exchange and Microsoft 365 Backup Services.
  • Implementing testing and configuring Identity & Workplace platform changes in line with agreed standards and security requirements.
  • Supporting identity governance lifecycle management and Conditional Access policy implementation.
  • Creating and maintaining technical documentation implementation records knowledge articles and operational handover materials.
  • Assisting with platform monitoring reporting service health reviews and incident resolution activities.
  • Working closely with suppliers and internal delivery teams to implement new technology solutions and transition services into live operation.
  • Supporting technical investigations root cause analysis and third-line escalations across Identity & Workplace services.
  • Monitoring Microsoft roadmap updates and service changes identifying risks opportunities and improvement initiatives.
  • Contributing to automation and repeatable deployment processes using PowerShell and Microsoft Graph.

What youll need to succeed

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Hands-on experience administering Microsoft 365 services within an enterprise environment.
  • Experience supporting Entra ID and Active Directory environments.
  • Understanding of Group Policy identity lifecycle management and access management concepts.
  • Experience delivering technical change within a controlled enterprise environment.
  • Experience working within incident change request and problem management processes.
  • Experience producing technical documentation implementation evidence and operational handover materials.
  • Strong Microsoft 365 administration and configuration expertise.
  • Good understanding of Identity and Access Management technologies and principles.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with a methodical approach to problem solving.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a wider technology team.
  • A continuous improvement mindset with a passion for automation and process optimisation.
  • PowerShell scripting experience with exposure to Microsoft Graph considered advantageous.
