We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established international freight forwarding and logistics organisation based in Basildon Essex. They are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join their team as a Freight Forwarding & Logistics Apprentice.
This is an excellent opportunity to kick-start a career in international logistics whilst earning a nationally recognised Level 3 qualification gaining real hands-on experience across multiple areas of the business from day one.
What Youll Be Doing
Supporting international freight forwarding activities across road ocean and air freight operations
Assisting in the coordination and movement of shipments throughout the supply chain
Supporting customer service activities and maintaining communication with customers suppliers and overseas partners
Assisting with the preparation and processing of freight documentation
Learning import and export activities completed accurately and within required timescales
Gaining an understanding of customs procedures compliance requirements and international trade regulations
Supporting invoicing and administrative tasks in line with company procedures
Maintaining and utilising operational systems accurately
Assisting with the preparation of quotations and customer enquiries
Rotating across departments including Customs Finance Operations and Customer Services
Identifying opportunities to improve processes and efficiencies within operational workflows
What Were Looking For
Strong communication skills written and verbal
Good organisation and time management
Excellent attention to detail
Solid IT skills including Microsoft Office
Ability to work accurately and follow processes
Positive attitude with a genuine willingness to learn
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Proactive problem-solving mindset
Essential: Level 2 Functional Skills in English and Maths
Training & Qualification
The successful candidate will complete the International Freight Forwarding Specialist Level 3 Apprenticeship delivered by South Essex College. The programme runs for 18 months followed by 3 months to complete the End Point Assessment.
Career Progression
Successful completion of the apprenticeship may lead to a permanent position subject to performance and business requirements a real pathway to a long-term career in freight and logistics.
