Key Responsibilities

• Develop electrical designs and layouts for commercial and residential developments including power distribution lighting and lighting control systems and life safety systems.
• Carry out independent site surveys to assess existing installations collect technical information and produce detailed reports schematics and practical recommendations.
• Demonstrate experience in the design of lighting CCTV telecommunications and fire alarm systems.
• Confidently present technical proposals and reports to clients in a clear and accessible manner while coordinating effectively with developers architects contractors and design teams.
• Produce accurate schematic and layout drawings using AutoCAD Bluebeam or equivalent software throughout all stages of the Plan of Work.
• Collaborate closely with project managers senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams to ensure projects are delivered on schedule and in compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
• Ensure all electrical designs align with UK regulations and industry guidance including IET Wiring Regulations CIBSE guidelines and BSRIA standards.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline ideally educated to Masters level.
• Minimum of 35 years experience in building services electrical design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Trimble Dialux or Relux and other relevant electrical design software.
• Strong knowledge of UK building regulations and industry standards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present technical information effectively to clients and stakeholders.
• Membership with or progression towards membership of professional organisations such as CIBSE or IET is desirable.
