Are you an experienced Education Lead looking for your next high-impact interim assignment This is an outstanding opportunity to take strategic ownership of school improvement performance intervention and prevention across a large county council. As Education Lead you will lead a team of experienced Performance Advisers oversee the identification and support of schools causing concern and play a pivotal role in improving outcomes for children and young people particularly those who are vulnerable or educated in vulnerable settings.
This short-term assignment offers the chance to influence educational standards at a senior level shape school improvement strategy and ensure robust challenge and support arrangements are in place. As Education Lead you will work closely with Education Psychology Advisory Teaching and Inclusion Services to drive collaboration and achieve sustainable improvement across schools and academies.
Your Role as Education Lead
- Lead the strategic coordination of school improvement challenge intervention and prevention activity
- Manage a team of Performance Advisers ensuring timely and effective action in schools causing concern
- Take accountability for the effective deployment of resources funding and commissioned support to improve outcomes
- Oversee the analysis of performance data intelligence and risk indicators to identify schools at risk of decline or failure
- Deliver key aspects of the Local Authoritys statutory responsibilities quality assurance processes and school improvement strategy
Your Previous Experience as Education Lead
- Significant senior leadership experience within the school system local authority or education improvement sector
- Proven track record of leading school improvement performance management and intervention programmes
- Strong experience of interpreting and using educational performance data to inform strategic decisions
- Demonstrable success managing and developing high-performing advisory or improvement teams
- Deep understanding of Local Authority statutory duties safeguarding responsibilities and educational standards frameworks
This interim Education Lead opportunity is expected to run initially until January 2027 with the potential to extend through to March 2027. The successful Education Lead will play a critical part in ensuring schools receive the challenge support and intervention required to deliver excellent outcomes for every child and young person.
