Cleaning Operative

Job Overview

We are currently recruiting for a reliable and professional Cleaning Operative to work at a commercial office facility in Newark. This is a temporary holiday cover assignment offering part-time evening hours.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness hygiene and presentation ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for staff and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

• General cleaning of office and communal areas
  
• Vacuuming sweeping and mopping floors
  
• Dusting and wiping desks surfaces and touch points
  
• Cleaning kitchens and welfare facilities
  
• Cleaning toilets washrooms and replenishing consumables
  
• Emptying waste bins and disposing of waste appropriately
  
• Ensuring cleaning equipment and materials are used safely and stored correctly
  
• Reporting any maintenance issues or health and safety concerns
  
• Maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness and presentation at all times
  
• Using the sites telephone-based time and attendance system
  

Candidate Requirements

• Previous commercial cleaning experience preferred
  
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
  
• Comfortable working alone and taking responsibility for site security procedures
  
• Ability to act as a key holder and operate alarm systems where required
  
• Excellent attention to detail
  
• Reliable punctual and professional approach
  
• Good communication skills
  
• Right to work in the UK
  

Pre-Employment Requirements

Successful candidates will be required to:

• Complete financial services and referencing checks
  
• Provide valid Right to Work documentation at induction
  
• Participate in site-specific induction and security procedures
  
• Use the mandatory telephone-based time and attendance system
  

Desirable Experience

• Previous experience cleaning office or commercial environments
  
• Knowledge of COSHH and safe use of cleaning chemicals
  
• Experience of lone working and key holder responsibilities
