Were looking for an enthusiastic and organised Allotment Officer to help shape and support Birminghams allotment service.

About the role

In this varied and rewarding role youll play a key part in managing the allocation and letting of allotment plots ensuring a smooth and efficient application process for residents. Youll support the ongoing development and improvement of the allotment service helping to create a well-managed accessible and responsive offer across the city.

Working closely with allotment associations and plot holders youll build positive relationships provide support and help resolve queries. Youll also undertake site visits where required gaining a real insight into how our allotments are used and how they can continue to flourish.

About you

Were looking for someone who is highly organised detail-focused and confident in administrative processes with a genuine passion for community growing and sustainable food production. You will also

• hold a relevant qualification in land management horticulture or a related field or equivalent experience
• experience managing or coordinating allotments green spaces or similar community assets
• experience working with community groups or volunteerled organisations
• experience liaising with multiple stakeholders and resolving disputes.
• excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively
• commitment to sustainability and community development
• knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to allotment management
